what I love: Wedding Chicks!

I'm going to be brief this week with what I love. Mainly because we've been busy bees over at Invited getting ready for our big Boston wedding (coming up this weekend)! But I had to let you know about what I love this week, because I'm 100% certain you will too!

Wedding Chicks is a fabulous blog! They have free printables, lots of DIY instructions, and so many real weddings to feast your eyes on! Most importantly, today, they've featured one of OUR weddings! Sara and Aaron were lucky enough to get married on a beautiful spring day overlooking the Potomac. Lots of details went into their day, and Meredith Perdue of & Unlimited was able to capture them all on film!

Check out their gorgeous feature here, and let me know what you think! Love it too?!

what I love: Shutterfly holiday cards!

So, I guess it is officially the holidays now, isn't it? For those of us who have been preparing since January 1st for this time to come, I'm sure you are more than prepared! For those of us who just realized that Thanksgiving is 7 days away (of which I am one), you are scrambling to get present lists together, gift wrap out of the back of the closet and holiday cards ordered ASAP. Well, the bad news is I can't buy nor wrap your presents for you; the good news is I can help you with at least one of those problems! For the holiday cards, I introduce you to Shutterfly

I am a huge fan of a photo card! Though I will be the first to admit that I haven't always been. But in recent years, as my friends began to get married, have babies, buy houses, etc, I quickly realized that the photo card at the end of the year kept me in the loop as to just what was going on in all of their lives! Plus a great photo card gives your friends and family a nice opportunity to have something to frame and put on the wall. Can't beat double duty gifts! I have staked out many a holiday photo card, since it's often hard (okay, I'll admit - nearly impossible!) to please my *discerning* eye. So needless to say, I was shocked when I started adding card after card to my Favorites on Shutterfly!

My current front-runner favorite (probably only if I had children as adorable as this though!):

Another fave:

 And yet another:
I love how the text integrates itself into the photo card above and vice versa! Plus that background pattern is clean and modern without screaming "Hi, I'm a holiday card!"

My favorite part about Shutterfly is the fact that they don't have only one thing; they have lots of things! So maybe you can handle some of those gifts for your family all in one go! Some of my personal favorites include calendars, mugs, and of course the cards! I've already picked out our card for this holiday season, and I'm not gonna lie - I love it! Have you?!

p.s. Bloggers, it doesn't hurt that they're running a promotion right now; bloggers get 50 free holiday cards from Shutterfly… sign up: http://bit.ly/sfly2010 :) Enjoy!

random love: sloan photography

Okay, I love this so much that I had to throw in a little something special on a random day, I know. But I just couldn't wait! Trust me!

You'll love Sloan Photography too - especially when you see these amazing photos of Stacie and Geoff during a recent "in love" photo session.

Now they're based in Arizona, so don't get your hopes up yet... but I'm pretty sure that for the right price you can export their amazing talents to any town!

I can't tell you in any words how much I love this photo session! What do you say? Do you love?

what i love now: trash the dress shoots

I have to say that one of my favorite trends emerging in the wedding photography arena right now is the "trash the dress" shoot!

If you've never heard of a "trash the dress" shoot, it is simply a day-after (or week-after, month-after, year-after, etc) photo shoot where you get to trash that beautiful white dress you wore on your wedding day. The thing to think about is this: when will you ever, ever, ever wear that gorgeous dress again? More than likely, it will be hanging in your closet for the next only-God-knows-how-many years doing nothing but attracting moths - so why not get some more beautiful (and fun) photos out of the dress before you have to get it cleaned and put away? Here is an example of a fabulous "trash the dress" shoot that some of my favorite photographers, K&K Photography, did just a bit ago!

What do you think? Could you see yourself getting down and dirty in your perfect, white wedding dress?
